- Every human cell contains protein that is
essential to its proper function. Although there are 80 naturally
occurring amino acids only 20 are necessary for human metabolism,
and those that must be supplied by food are termed essential. Amino
acids are absorbed rapidly and in combination with vitamins, provide
essential nutrients for skin.
- Vitamins A, E and F are necessary
for normal growth and contribute to natural moisturising of the skin.
- Lanolin
is nature's best natural emollient and is almost identical to human
skin oil. It functions primarily as an occlusive barrier to retard
moisture loss without restricting ingredient absorption. When dry
skin occurs, water loss from external skin layers can exceed the
rate of replacement from below, so it is necessary to place an occlusive
barrier onto the surface of the skin to delay water loss.
- Urea
is a clinically proven ingredient of skin. It acts as a moisturiser,
allowing skin cells to absorb and retain moisture naturally.
- Vegetable-based
natural ingredients that are essential to the maintenance of healthy
skin include wheat germ oil, calendula oil, mimosa tenuiflora, sweet
almond oil and beetroot.
